Our reputation has been built on our insistence on only recruiting highly qualified, trained and experienced therapists. You’d expect that all therapists would be, but you’d be surprised. The industry is not regulated and incredibly qualifications can range from a week’s online training to years at University. At Head Agenda, our robust recruitment process ensures that all our therapists have undergone a three-year University course or equivalent. All work to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy professional framework and code of ethics. Head Agenda therapists are members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy or similar governing body. Our CBT specialists are members of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.
We offer a holistic and diverse range of different short and long term therapy services, including Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) EMDR and Rewind Trauma treatments. Our therapists help individuals, couples, children, teenagers and corporates with a wide variety of issues such as anger management, relationships, anxiety, trauma and depression.
You’re in capable hands as every Head Agenda therapist is a properly trained, experienced and skilled practitioner. All have completed training to become highly qualified therapists. All have followed a University path of at least three years on British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited courses or equivalent.
Not all counsellor training is the same and the industry isn’t regulated. In fact, it’s possible that some counsellors have only completed a one week online course. That’s why Head Agenda makes finding the right highly qualified therapist for you easy.
It’s not only the University qualifications and accredited training that set our therapists apart from many others. Our recruitment process is so robust, qualifications alone aren’t enough. We also ensure our therapists have had therapy during their training to understand their behaviours, thinking, interventions and have good self-awareness. We insist that all Head Agenda therapists have also gained clinical experience and honed their skills working in voluntary or paid counselling placements. These include; hospital staff support, university, college and school student and staff services, rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse organisations, NHS, NSPCC, Relate, Mosaic, Leeds Counselling, Mind Matters and many other services and organisations. So, you know when our therapists speak, they’re doing so from real experience.
Rest assured, all Head Agenda therapists adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions and are subject to the BACP Professional Conduct Procedure. This offers a framework of best practice that BACP therapists offer to clients.
Each therapist attends regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training on issues that are relevant to their work. They also receive clinical supervision, at least monthly, with their personal clinical supervisors who also adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework.
We provide complete confidentiality. Your sessions are a safe place to share and work through your private problems and difficulties with your Head Agenda therapist, without fear of disclosure. At your first session, we’ll explain our promise of confidentiality so you know exactly where we all stand. By setting these consistent boundaries, we start from a position of safety, security and trust.
When you have therapy, you want your therapist to not only truly understand you, but also have the ability to put themselves in your position. Head Agenda therapists listen carefully, get to know you, your individual problems and identify precisely how you are feeling. It’s from here that together, you can work through your issues and build strategies for helping you improve your mental wellbeing.
You decide to undergo therapy because you want help, not to be judged. Our therapists are completely non-judgemental and are only interested in listening to and helping you. So, you can talk in complete confidence knowing we’re always here to help, and never criticise you.
Our therapists are concerned about one thing... you. Your physical, social, economic or cultural background don’t come into it, unless you wish to discuss a particular issue that touches on them. We accept you completely as you are and work closely with you to help make you a better version of you.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised by just how friendly, calm and compassionate our therapists are. We don’t just listen to you, we sympathise with you and your problems. We also find that encouraging you to be compassionate to yourselves and others can really help promote your emotional wellbeing.
Our high standards and professionalism have secured us the Psychotherapy Service of the Year Prestige Award for two consecutive years. Mandy, Juliet and all our Head Agenda therapists are delighted.
