It’s not a condition that just affects adults, too. Traumatic experiences at an early age, such as sexual abuse, neglect, exposure to domestic violence, and traumatic loss or bereavement are commonplace.

There are many types of treatments and therapy for PTSD out there from rewind therapy and PTSD eye therapy to cognitive behavioural therapy for PTSD and complex PTSD therapy. At Head Agenda, our therapists use a number of different evidence-based, well-established treatments. A key one is Rewind Therapy.
The Rewind Therapy technique is a safe, non-intrusive process.
Working with an expert Head Agenda therapist, the guided experience involves reprocessing your memories rather than erasing them.
Our clients attend a Rewind Assessment session, sharing what difficulties they are having and how their trauma is manifesting. We gather information at this session to establish what outcome you would like. A form is completed detailing how you are feeling at this session.
At the treatment session we encourage you to effectively ‘file’ your memories, the potential to trigger the fight, flight, freeze or fold response – the ‘as if’ in the traumatising situation – is removed. As you don’t need to articulate your traumatic story, rewind therapy reduces or removes the possibility of being re-traumatised.
The experienced Head Agenda therapist guides you through a specific, timed process that lasts no longer than an hour.
We will work with you:
Two weeks after your treatment session a second form is completed to collect data of your feelings and thinking about the trauma. This is then compared with your original score so you can see the progress.
We’ve found the Rewind Therapy technique to be highly effective, especially when working with one-off or complex trauma therapy for PTSD.
The technique may take as few as three sessions and results have been outstanding and highly effective in reducing symptoms of post-traumatic stress.
The benefits of trauma therapy are wide ranging from you being able to think and talk about their trauma without being re-traumatised. You will feel in control of the events that happened to you by ideations of new perspectives and the provision of neuroscience in the Rewind technique. The coping strategies that you will have gained will enable you to feel differently about your experiences and enable you to file them in your brain for them to be retrieved only when you want to retrieve them.
If you are experiencing flashbacks and having difficulty sleeping you will find that trauma therapy will help you to function better, reducing the flashbacks and aiding better sleep. Trauma therapy works at your pace. You will decide if its right for you, no-one can decide that for you.
In most instances working with historical trauma would be long term unless you are suitable for Rewind therapy.
If you have an isolated experience of trauma for example, an accident, an assault, rape, that hasn’t occurred over a long period of time or are troubled by specific flashbacks then Rewind therapy would be suitable for you.
We work in blocks of six sessions, after each block we review with you to assess if you find the therapy helpful and establish areas that you wish to work on moving forward. You are in control of how many sessions you have, whether you take a break or continue with therapy or stop.
Our therapy and counselling services can help you deal and cope with your trauma holistically; however, you might be interested in learning about how we help overcome specific types of mental ill health, including:
